BU Atmosphere

How’s the atmoshpere at BU, in that if I want to go to class in like sweatpants and a shirt, am I sure to find others doing the same or is it all designer clothes to classes. Just curious?

where whatever you want to wear. this isnt high school

i just visited BU a couple of days ago, and the students were very well dressed compared to students at harvard and MIT (drove through on the way to BU, they’re like right across the river from BU). but yea, i don’t think anyone cares.

just remember also that BU is integrated into the city. those you saw who were dressed nicely could have easily been a professional walking through our campus

you can dress however you want; people don’t care

If you see people in SMG (School of Management) sometimes they have to go to class wearing business formal clothing. Many people just like to look nice when they walk to class, but no one really cares if you slob it up. It won’t make you any more attractive though.

Atmosphere is pretty solo. There are no more high school cliques (in any college really) and you gradually find your own group of friends through things like class, dormitory, clubs/associations, greek life. You can end up knowing half the campus or just a tight group of 5. Its all on your hands.

re: “sweatpants and a shirt”:
most people wear shirts.

I slob it up 24/7 and nobody cares.
