Costs are similar. Looking to go into Business/Finance. I am confused whether or not NEU’s co-op program is such a deal breaker. I feel like NEU’s business program is virtually unknown but the overall school is more prestigious than BU.
@dvrichard90 BU is overall more prestigious than Northeastern; in Boston, and definitely nationally, very few people (except a strange vocal minority on platforms like this who have internalized the school’s inferiority complex) would consider Northeastern more prestigious
The post above is from a BU student believing anyone who disagrees with his view on here has aforementioned “inferiority complex”. I would look for some neutral opinions there. BU historically has been more known, but the schools are pretty similar in rank and notoriety these days, both overall and in business. To say one is vastly more prestigious than the other these days is hard to argue for these days.
In terms of the effects of co-op when it comes to business, it depends who you ask. Northeastern has co-op’s at a good number of financial firms, but they aren’t a “Wall Street Target”. Most get their foot in the door via co-op. BU isn’t considered a “Wall Street Target” much either, but usually is more than Northeastern. For BU, the route is usually done more through alumni connections. When it comes to getting internships at these places, you’d be riding the name of BU more than having direct help like at Northeastern.
In the interest of bias, I’m a Northeastern student, so again, look for opinions from neutral parties here, not ones claiming that anyone that happens to come on and say differently than them is wrong.
