Hi, I’m an incoming Freshman at BU and I was assigned Towers dorm. I really like it (great location!) but I’ve never seen the building from the inside. I looked at the YouTube video introducing students to the Towers, but the video was really out of date, since the building has recently been renovated.

So, what can current BU students tell me about the Towers?? How are the dorms? Is there a dining hall?

Can you post a picture of what a typical Towers dorm room looks like?

I appreciate any/all info.
Thanks so much!

The Towers dorms are pretty nice! Have you taken a tour of BU? The model dorm they show you there is a typical room in the Towers. I’m pretty sure all the beds are lofted, which creates more space.

All the floors are single sex and I’ve heard it’s quieter than the larger freshman dorms, however I still hear its a good place to make friends your first year.

There is no dining hall in Towers (although there used to be! I miss it). You’re right down the road from the new dining hall as well as Warren dining, so no worries on the eating front.

Hey, thanks for the info! I haven’t taken a tour of the campus, but I’m a local and I know my way around BU pretty well

So, what does Towers have in place of the old dining hall? Is it like a study room or lobby or something? And do they have lounges/public hang-out spaces on each floor? If so, what are those places like?

(Sorry for asking everything, I’m just obsessed with BU and want to prepare myself, haha)

I think it’s just a study space now. From the floors I’ve seen the common spaces in towers are usually in a corner with a couch/table/chairs. Nothing too elaborate. There are common areas/study lounges throughout the building. When I lived in a brownstone on Bay State I would study there all the time.

Do you have to loft the beds yourself, or are they lofted when you get there?

Also, how is the internet? Is it possible to get wireless or do you need to plug into the Ethernet?

I’m pretty sure most of the beds are already lofted when you get there.

The dorms have wireless, but you might want to bring an Ethernet cord just in case. My wireless was spotty in my room in Warren but worked great in the common room.
