BU v. Rutgers - pros and cons?

I have the Trustee Scholarship from BU (still have to pay approx 13k/year but I’m waiting on a few external scholarships). I also have the Presidential (full, don’t have to pay anything) Scholarship from Rutgers. I will be visiting both soon, but I was wondering if anyone had tips/pointers/experiences to help me out in making a decision. If you’re a current student, what do you recommend? Thanks in advance for any help!

Boston, MA versus New Brunswick, NJ. Think about it.

Follow the money, if Rutgers is cheaper and you’re in state, go for it. No use in having debt from going to BU for undergrad, you’re gonna wanna save up for grad school

To clarify, my parents will definitely be able to pay both (there will be no debt involved) comfortably. I’m asking about the experience rather than costs.

If costs are not a concern for either school, I think BU is the better choice, but you have to see if it’s the better choice for you.

Thanks for your help! I’ll definitely keep that in mind :)

New Brunswick has its positives and negatives, but it can’t compare to Boston, which is a collegiate mecca. MIT, NEU, Harvard and nearby Boston College and Tufts…all filled with students. BU is within walking distance to everything you could want.

If rankings matter to you, USNWR ranks BU ahead of Rutgers. Rutgers has something of a campus depending where you’re situated, but it sprawls out over miles and you would need to take buses from one point to another. If cost isn’t an issue, and both schools offer good programs in your major, I can’t think of any reason to choose RU over BU.
