I got into Boston U, Brandeis U and University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, which of these would be the best place to pursue a psychology undergrad
Is Illinois your state school? Can you afford Brandeis and BU? What are you planning to do with your degree- are you planning on grad school?
Why does psychology interest you?
What do you want to do with your degree? Are you interested in getting a PhD, a PsyD, a masters and work as a therapist, or just an undergraduate degree, and work in one of the many jobs that require a psych undergrad?
While UIUC has the best psychology program, for the vast majority of jobs which require a Psych degree, any one of the three will be an excellent choice. So you should most likely be focusing on affordability. If you are an Illinois resident, UIUC is likely the most affordable. If not, it depends on your NPC. If you are full pay, again, UIUC is the most affordable. If not, one of the private ones is more likely to be affordable. However, neither BU nor Brandeis are full need met colleges, so you need to check their EFC calculators.
All of those schools should have a strong undergrad psych program. Consider affordability first and foremost and secondly the environment in which you want to spend the next four years. Keep in mind that many psych majors go on to grad school.
no, I’m an international student, and yes I’m planning on grad school. Brandeis I am able to afford since I got a scholarship, Boston U I had to remove, it was just too expensive
I’m still unsure of what I want to do with the degree, I would like to explore different avenues of psychology before deciding. What about the research programs, jobs and internships between the three uni’s ?
Yes, Thank you!
