I'm very interested in these schools and was just curious about the political science programs at each one. I've heard that GWU is the strongest for politics, but what about the programs at NYU and Boston University?

All are excellent schools and very similar. DC probably has the advantage if your interest is politics, although the internships must get competetive there with all the Pol. Sc. majors in DC.

I know many people who majored in political science at NYU and found the department subpar.

gwu is definitely best. it is in washington, you know.

BU has a good international relations department, which is interdisciplinary, drawing among courses from IR, pol. sci, history, geography, econ, anthro, etc.

but if youre talking about IR, GW has one of, if not the best programs in the country. This is what GW excels at. Every school has a major/ a few majors that are its strongholds and for GW its poli sci and IR.

I picked BU over the other two. It just felt right for me. I liked Boston as a city, felt very safe and clean and small enough to figure out how to get around. The BU campus is enhanced now due to new Science and Life Center, huge rec center and arena with on campus evenst and name concerts, and more green spaces in those ares. Plus I like being along a river and park area. The other two schools are great too.
