After hearing back from all the schools I’ve applied to, I’ve been able to bring my options down to NYU, BU, and UConn.
I got in at all 3 as a Mechanical Engineering major. I was accepted into the honors program at UConn but did not apply for the honors program at BU and wasn’t accepted for the honors program at NYU. I’d like to know what school you all believe is better for engineering but also/or offers a lot of opportunities even if it’s not a top-notch engineering school.
What is the cost for each school and is money a factor for your family?
The cost for all is less than $8000/year so money is not a factor.
Do all schools offer co op? I personally would look at some projects that senior students do at each school and see which one looks more appealing to you. This is just my opinion but I would choose BU or UConn before NYU.
BU and NYU are a much much different feel than UConn. I think BU and NYU are more advantageous because of internship possibilities.
I know BU offers co op but I agree with having NYU as 3rd because it is in Brooklyn which wouldn’t be an issue if it weren’t separated from their main campus.
The internship possibilities are sort of why I am leaning more towards BU over UConn because of location. Boston vs Storrs
BU does not offer co op
