BU vs. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Biomedical Engineering

I was accepted by both, but RPI gave me more money. Also, I am a girl from CA. I love Boston and enjoy the city. However, I am very serious about becoming an engineer and I understand that RPI is a very good tech school. On the other hand, BU is a very good engineering school in Biomedical engineering (#8 in the country).

Also, I am concerned about Student life at RPI. Should I be or is it better than I have perceived?

I am really interested in research does anyone know. Which school has more opportunities in research?

I plan to continue to graduate school and was curious how difficult each curriculum is?

Lastly, I heard that most engineering schools grade on a curve. Is that true? Is that a bad or a good thing? I could see it being very good, but also bad.

Please help and give me the best answer ASAP.

These are very different schools. RPI is STEM-centered and therefore nerdier and with a poor male-female ratio. BU is a much larger university with a completely different vibe. I think you would really prefer Boston to Troy since you say you like the city.
Have you been able to visit either one?
Engineering is difficult no matter where you go, but if you are a good student and are willing to work hard and ask for help when you need it, you should be fine. They admitted you because they think you can be successful at their schools!
