Does anyone have any info? Student experience?
Like what? It’s an extremely competitive program, well respected. Small school, so plenty of attention from professors.
@surfcity Thank you! Looking at Bucknell as well as some larger state schools. Trying to determine the best route to take.
Do the engineering classes have small class sizes? Also are there lots of opportunities for internships?
Most classes are smaller in size. That is the benefit of a small school. True, a PSU will have more labs and resources but for undergrad, a small school has more hands on attention.
The alumni are very connected and very helpful. Lots of opportunities for undergrad research. You really need to visit to see the facilities and whether a smaller school is for you versus a big university.
My son is a freshman at Bucknell. He has professors for all his classes, even Labs and sections. Professors all seem to be very good teachers and really accessible when he has questions. Very different than the experience I had at a research u, where most of your interaction was with graduate students, and when you did have a professor he might be brilliant but a poor teacher.
@mdpar34 Thank you so much for the info. That is the feeling I got when my S and I visited this fall. I was very impressed with what I saw.
