I’ve never posted here before but I’ve read a lot of the forums and have gotten some really useful advice. It’s decision time and I’m having a really hard time narrowing down my choices. Just for some background, I am interested in science, possibly pre-med. I come from a public HS in New England. My options are: Emory; Villanova (honors program, some merit aid); Bucknell; Wake Forest. I am also a dancer and am interested in being in a jazz/ hip-hop type dance team, but not one that has too big of a time commitment. Any advice on pre-med programs/ acceptance to med school/ dance team/ study abroad as a science major would be greatly appreciated.

All these schools will be good for the sciences. Study abroad for science is always a challenge because of the requirements but can be done if well thought out. Pick the school that offers you the best dance opportunities since that is your passion. Other factors might be traveling home during breaks, cost and ease. Bucknell and Wake are very similar but traveling home might be more difficult/costly from north carolina or atlanta. See what fits you best and you can adapt to any of them as long as the dance program suits you.
Congrats on your acceptances.

these are all good questions. My son is looking at Bucknell and is curious about many of the same things. (not the dance team though!)

Here is some information about the class of 2010 from Bucknell. As you can see, BU places a lot of students in med school. I was unable to find a percentage, but they do have an active pre-med advising program. You can also see from this PDF what other opportunities are available for science majors.

Travel to New England shouldn’t be a problem. There is a ride board and there are always people headed in that direction.

Here is the website for the Bucknell Dance Dept. [Bucknell Dance Program](http://www.orgs.bucknell.edu/dance_company/)

In addition, there are several dance extracurricular activities, found here: [Art, Entertainment & Performance || Bucknell University](http://www.bucknell.edu/x1496.xml)

I think Bucknell and Wake Forest are similar in size of campus. Villanova is in a more suburban location, but I am not sure if its pre-med acceptance would be up to Bucknell and WF. Emory is in the city and also a pretty good bet for science and pre-med.
