I'm looking for a somewhat laid back and enjoyable class to fulfill my philosophy breadth requirement and balance out my other two classes (bio1a/l and physics 8a/l). Should I take Buddhist Studies C50 (Intro) or Buddhist Studies C115 (Japanese)?

Sounds like you are an incoming freshman, I would definitely opt for the lower-division C50.

I took BuddStd C115. 5 non-cumulative quizzes, weekly reading responses (based on articles you read), and a 10-15 page term paper. Pretty relaxing class as I enjoyed the material.
