Got a 106% on the A100 midterm!!

Wow, good job!!!

106%? Holy S**t. Be proud of that score man. Two of my friends both did terrible and got 50% and 62%. Luckily I’m not in that class. But yeah, M118 is a joke. Our test today was incredibly easy.

I think finite is going to get harder, but we’ll see. I got an 86% on the test, and while I’m ok with that, I was sure I got an A. I guarantee it was because of stupid mistakes.

Congrats on the midterm though, it gives me hope for the next 8 weeks when I take it.

^ Nice! 86 is pretty good for that class, haha. I made a 72 on that test, but Finite has been my worst class. I don’t like to blame the teacher, but my professor is really, really horrible.

As for A100, I think the only reason I did so well on the midterm was because of the opportunities that Vivian Winston gave us to get better at the problems. I cannot emphasize how great of a professor she is. She’s unworldly nice and she’ll do everything in her power to help you understand the material. And even though she gets like 50 people to her office hours a night, she still sits down with everyone individually and works through problems until SHE is 100% confident that we know what we’re doing.

Finite is officially on my ****list. I stayed up until 2 in the morning studying and still couldn’t manage to get above a C. And the test is 20% of our grade too… life is awesome.

^ You can still get an A in the class. Chill. I got a C ** MINUS ** and I’m not worried.

You probably know about this already Leila and Loon, but in case you don’t–my D is in finite now and says watching the archived shows of “The Finite Show” online from the iub web site have helped her a lot.

I love the Finite Show! It doesn’t help me much but nonetheless it’s stupid and entertaining haha

The Finite Show is what’s been getting me through webwork assignments v__v Even though it is horrendously stupid at times… at least it’s good for some laughs.

The word “webwork” has been making me cringe lately. Especially since I’m in M118 AND M119.

^ Wow, impressive. I can barely handle M118 alone. :/

For M118, if you get a D on the first test, it is impossible to get a A in the class, right? Unless you get all A on the midterm, 3rd, and final exam right?

Unfortunately, that sounds right. The first 3 tests are worth 20%, the final is 25%, and webwork is 15%, so you can do the math if you want on that one. At least webwork is almost a guaranteed 100%.

I have the finite show guy as my teacher, and I like him a lot. He’s lost the mustache though.

I’m working my ass off on those, and I’m getting http://oi52.■■■■■■■.com/fny3c2.jpg

If you’re getting 100’s on those, find me and show me how the **** to do these problems.

…Sorry…
I do get it. And my whole floor is like all people trying to get into Kelley so we kinda all end up working on it together, so if somebody don’t get it, somebody will. So we end up doing well.
By no means did I want to imply they are easy, but you can usually find somebody to help you. Go to Briscoe and get help, but sign up beforehand, I hear it gets crowded.

This is why I preach don’t take finite if you are trying to get into Kelley. Take M119 instead. At the very least, only take one of these classes before applying to Kelley. According to admission rules, you don’t need both to get into Kelley, and M119 is not as quirky as finite, but it is still a lot of work. With more direct admits every year in Kelley, there are fewer slots for non-direct admits, and a B- or lower in M118 or M119 can really hurt your chances according to the admission’s website. Take finite at a cc the summer after your freshman year, where the classes are smaller and you can get more help during lectures and and you only need a ‘C’ for the grade to fulfill the Kelley requirement after admission, or take it at IUB your sophomore year after you are admitted to Kelley. But you don’t need finite AND calculus to get into Kelley, so why double your risk of getting less than a B in one of them.

K201, anybody?

shakes head stupidest class ever. It’s not hard but it’s tedious enough to ruin my day.

If I transferred from Ivy Tech to IU and wanted to apply to Kelley School, would they accept Ivy Tech’s BUS-101 class as a replacement to IU’S BUS-A100?
