Business as a strong hook for HYPSM/Top Business schools?

Hello everyone, sorry to post it, however I think I will get most of the answers here.

Is the fact I started my business being 15 years old at the time and having quite large revenue over past 10 months be a strong hook for HYPS/Top Business Schools(Wharton,MIT Sloan, NYU Sloan, UCB), which could impress the admission officers?

My revenue is over 50,000$ since February 2010 and since February I have been absolutely financially independent, paying for everything, including my healthcare and my private school(15,000$ anually).

It is not showing off, just seems like no one ever answered this question for me.

Thanks a lot!

Jw what do you do?
And more importantly, why go to college?

I think it would be an amazing hook; it completely sets you apart from your competition. But do you have the grades to back it up?

^agreed, when admission officers seek to build a class, they want all types of people. There aren’t many applicants who run their own successful business. Stats?

haven’t yet took the SAT, however I am sure I can get 2200+/700+ on subject tests. Having some preparation now.

We don’t have GPA, neither class rank. However, I think I am in top10% at least.( extremely competetive high school)

Yo, baby, starting your own business is totally in vogue this season. Go for it!

Yes, you do have a great shot. However, keep in mind, you need to be able to communicate this clearly to the colleges. Explain your product/service, business plan, target clients, etc. in one of your essays. It might also be nice to point out trends- i.e. if your business is still growing, that is a great sign. However, don’t mention if it is maxing out or anything. $50,000 in 10 months is great, but if your business is to be successful as a hook, it needs to have potential to grow.

Ok thanks a lot for advices! Need some more please ;)

What does your business do? After it grows a little, or even now, you could probably look into reaching out to the community in some way with your business, it’ll show a whole new level of maturity.
