Hello, I would like to know if the University of Rochester is good for undergraduate in Business. Thanks
I don’t like to leave a question sitting unanswered so I’ll try. Undergrad business as a separate major is pretty new, maybe a few years old. It was discussed for a while and I know there was effort put into making it something that fits UR, so it isn’t what the school thinks of as just another business major. As I remember, they talked a lot about how they wanted the learning and lessons of the graduate Simon School to be used. So they came up with this. This must be new because the BS track is only available for the class of 2017 and on.
It’s more of a liberal arts business degree, than a hard core business discipline. It really depends what you are looking for.
You can study business and get either a B.A. or B.S. For a B.A., you need eight business courses AND need to choose another major (it may need to be a major where you get a B.S.). The B.S. degree is fifteen courses and there are three tracks - Finance/Accounting; Marketing; and Management (which requires three courses in Enterpreneaurship (I know I spelled that wrong)

I just checked the UofR business major page and came up with different information than you did. Hopefully this link works:

If it doesn’t, what it says is that “the BA degree in business consists of eleven courses with a calculus prerequisite”. On that page I did not find any indication that a second major was required beyond the B.A. in Business. I could very well be wrong, and would be interested to see the information you have. You will see that the linked page indicates there are eight “core” courses for the BA degree, which is where the confusion might have been sown.
