Hello everyone, i recently got accepted to UCI as a transfer student for business economics. I was wondering how the classes are and what kind of job i can expect with this degree. I know that its what you put in, but does the business econ degree at irvine stack up in terms of career prospects? Any input from students majoring in business econ or have some advice would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of jobs are you interested in? Biz Econ can go into many fields.

Having high gpa and good related work experience can always help.

Im interested in the finance or accounnting fields. I just wanted to know if business economics will help me get a job and the strength of this major.

Biz Econ major itself won’t help you land a job. (e.g. Biz Econ w/ minor in Accounting) Will let you apply for internships/jobs in the public accounting field, as firms expect students to be CPA eligible upon graduation now.

But its not only your academic standing, but also if you work part-time during school, involved in campus activities/clubs, prior internships, etc.

But yes, economics in general is a very broad major, and can go into many fields.
