My daughter is a "girly girl" and wants the traditional college experience, to be happy, proud of her alma mater (prestige), a "warm, fuzzy" memory of college, and have a strong social network and lucrative job opportunities. I think she would like the more nurturing environment of a small college (went to small private high school) but she wants to try something a little bigger than small LAC. Should she choose GA Tech at $14k a year or UNC Chapel Hill at $40k/yr? Might end up going to grad or med school in future. She cannot decide, already visited schools a lot.

UNC has a highly ranked business school. So, if money is not an issue, UNC seems to be a better choice. However, business school is kind of odd for a pre-med. The curriculum would be such that it is difficult to graduate and get into a med school without gap years. You should go to Pre-med forum to look for discussion on this subject. It will be another $250-300K for med school.
