business major interested in law?

I am currently a sophomore at Virginia Tech and I am in the business school. To be quite honest my interest level in business is dwindling. I feel I am passed the point where I can switch out of the business school to something else. This is why I am interested in Law. The idea of being a lawyer intrigues me much more than being an accountant. My question is should I take up an easier business major just so my GPA will be higher for applying to Law schools? My only problem with that is I don't want to end up stuck if my LSATS are low and I don't get into a good law school. So my problem is I feel that I should major in Accounting or Finance and that way if I dont get into a good law school then ill have a back up plan. But obviously Accounting and Finance will be much tougher routes which may hurt my GPA. Right now I have a 3.66 and my GPA this semester is looking good so far will prob bump it up to a 3.7. Any suggestions?

Figure out roughly where you stand with the LSAT. This is pretty easy to do with just a few hours – take a cold LSAT. Anticipate a little bit of a rise due to studying, and think about your SAT score, and figure that out. Punch those into lawschoolnumbers.com and see what kind of law schools could conceivably be in range.

A 3.66 is a pretty good GPA. If you can keep that up, you should be able to find a good law school to attend.

I would suggest you take a business law class to see how much interest you have in the law.

It is important that you are able to get into a good law school, but that is not as important as doing well in law school. Taking difficult classes and being at the top of those classes as an undergraduate will help you do well in law school.
