Business Major needing advice with Med-School

Know any1 or any where that i can go for advisement and really talk to about my opinions and can give me advices without been too bias?

I was thinking a college advisement counselor but not sure how much they know about issues like mine.

are you near any Cal States with post-bac programs, such as SF or East Bay? Or, a UC?

Make an appointment with one of their program advisors.

I am in West LA so the closest Cal State with a post-bac is Cal state L.A or Fullerton. I am not sure if any UC around have such a program maybe UCLA extension.

I thought “first generation” for college purposes had to do with first generation to go to college. Doesn’t sound like this student is “first gen”.

I don’t think “first gen” for college purposes means first generation American.

Also, doesn’t sound like this student had any adversities to work thru.

CSU Fullerton is waaaaaaaay better than CSULA.

Will your family pay for this post bac?

Yes my family will pay for the Post-bac so i can focus 100% on study. I am just afraid that with my 3.0 GPA i might not even get into the program.

And lets say i get in what are my chances of actually getting into med school after?

nd lets say i get in what are my chances of actually getting into med school after?

There’s no way we can estimate that…too many factors…

1) How you actually do in the post-bac program

2) how you do on your MCAT

3) Your ECs and other extra factors

4) Which med schools you apply to.

Just getting accepted to a post-bac program isn’t enough to predict any kind of chances. Your question is like someone asking…if I get accepted to UCLA for undergrad, what’s my chances for getting accepted to med school?

Quite frankly, you might consider a DO. In the post-bac, you could retake any science prereqs – a DO will replace the grade with the new one. An allopathic med school will not.

So would you say I might have a higher chance to medical school for a DO than a MD?
As far as i understand they are both interesting jobs so I don’t mind either way.

Also are post-bac programs hard to get in with a 3.0 cGPA?
