I am applying for Chapel Hill. I understand you dont declare a major till your sophomore year but Im already thinking of what to put down for intended major. Im interested in making money (business) and i like the business world but I also like political science and am considering applying to law school after. Not sure what to choose and what opens up in the job world if I choose either.

Any major can get you into law school. Your LSAT scores will play a huge part. Here are how various majors do in the LSAT test.

In terms of jobs, graduating with a degree in accounting or finance will tend to get one hired more quickly at a higher salary than a political science major.

Double major or minor in one and major in the other. I was really interested in (and still am) PoliSci. You’re interested in making money? Well a lot of people are. But at the same time money isn’t everything, and you really need to pick a major based on your future, your interests, and your goals. If you don’t get into Law School or change your mind what are you going to do? Grad school is always an option – although not an option for everyone – granted not everyone wants to go to grad school. Business does not always equal money or success. Success doesn’t come easy most of the time. Business is versatile, but a lot of people go and get an M.B.A. In this world, a B.A or B.S isn’t really enough anymore for certain jobs.
