Business School (MBA) - Undergrad/Grad Background

I'm currently an undergraduate senior majoring in Electrical Engineering and I'm curious about getting into a graduate business program.

I'm considering attending business school and getting an MBA after doing a masters in Electrical Engineering. I'm wondering how helpful that would be, I heard that having and engineering and business degrees can get you pretty far.

What kind of background would I need for business school if I'm coming from an engineering background? So far I've taken a microeconomics class for a GE and I'm wondering what else would I need to take for graduate studies in business. I heard schools like UC Berkeley like to take people ranging from all sorts of majors for their business program.

In the end, does it just boil down to work experience? Would demonstrating my knowledge on the GMAT be sufficient enough to get in without an undergraduate background in Econ/Business?

I’m wondering the exact same thing, going to get my MSEE and MBA.

I know for MBA it doesn’t matter what background you come from (they like hard backgrounds though, and EE is definately hard). I’ve also heard they prefer Engineers to Business/Comm majors because of the harder background.

I’ve also heard you should work for 2-5 years before you apply for MBA programs (It drastically increases your chances).
