I'm going into my senior year of high school and want to narrow my list of school down. I'll give you a little run-down of myself:
-Go to the best (or one of the best) public schools in Pennsylvania
-3.8 Unweighted GPA
-Should be slightly over 4.0 WGPA (pretty tough schedule, 3-4 APs senior year)
-30 on ACTs (plan on improving to a 31-31)
-2000 on SATs (plan on improving to 2100)
-Class Vice President
-Got into PA Governor's School for Global Entrepreneurship (Highly selective state-sponsored college program at Lehigh)
-Lettered in Track and Field 10, 11
-HS Soccer 9, 10
-Rec basketball, Travel Soccer Captain (stupid I know, but well-roundedness = +)
-Secretary of National Honor Society
-President of CISV Pittsburgh (International Cultural Understanding Organization)
-Co-President of World Affairs Club
-Law, Spanish, LINK(helping special-ed kids) Clubs
-Extensive Travel to CISV camps (see above) since I was 11 (looks pretty sicko on resumes/essays I think)
-Paul Harris Service Above Self Rotary Club Award
-Some other volunteering and resume filler BS...
-I would have good interviews and above par essays
Sorry about the list, I just want an good opinion... and I want to study International Business. My current list includes:

1. U. Virginia (Dad/lots of Family Alumni so I've heard I'm considered in-state... true?)

2. Georgetown

3. Penn (Ridiculous Reach?)

4. Wake Forest

5. UNC (out of state though...)

6. U. Michigan

7. U. Maryland

8. U. Florida

9. Northwestern

10. U. Indiana

I know I have a decently comprehensive list... any suggestions on business schols that are acheiveable? I'm a fan of college-town, 5,000^. Do you think these schools are attainable? I'm also looking for schools in the mid-range (like Wake) that seem to be on par-with my scores, but I think my extra-currics will pop me up some... I just don't know how much.... Thanks a lot! I'd be happy to give advice to anyone else if you need it.

Hmm. I'm sure you would be prime candidate wherever you decide to go- I reccomend looking at other features of the schools you are interested in- class size, teaching methods (TAs or no?), endowment, mean salary people get after graduating from specific programs...and the like. You seem VERY comprehensize and leader-like- I say go all-out :-D make sure to apply ED/EA somewhere. Go for merit/aid-based scholarships if you can...but be wary- check to see if the school is need-blind (a mistake I made.)

Thanks, I'm really interested to see Florida tomorrow... I guess I will follow up with some more information, class size is a non-factor, TAs are not a big deal, mean salary has to be 90,000+, but i'm not sure if this is always a good indicator. money/scholarships are not that big of a deal... i'm just worried about my SATs/ACTs, GPA now up to 3.9/4.2

$50000 will not leave you on welfare right out of college. If you get a business degree from any decent school, have good work experience/internship while in college, you can make a good amount of money.

If you're looking for business-oriented schools in NYC, you should look at Pace, Fordham and Baruch. They're not exactly you would think of when you are college searching but they offer undergrads many business opportunities because they're located right in the city.

i was KIDDING on the welfare thing, sorry it's hard to show sarcasm on the internet... good suggestions but I'm looking for a larger school, PSU has just turned me off slightly...

Just for me in particular, any pretty good student can get in. I go to a really good public school that colleges seem to love, so any student with a 3.6 and above can get in, i just really wanted to seperate myself into the upper-strata of students by getting into a really good college, so i guess getting into PSU just doesn't seem like a big enough accomplishment to me (but I know it's still a really good school)
