Hello ,
I was wondering what would be the major difference between a Business Major in a Liberal Arts college (more commonly known as Business Admin.) and a Business Major (like finance, accounting, marketing , etc) in a business school. In what ways do they differ and in which ways do they prepare you for ur job differently??

Unless you're talking about Holy Cross or Richmond, there's very few AACSB-accredited business programs at LACs. AACSB accreditation is important for recruitment and transferability of courses and MBA/MS prerequisites.
Very few LACs even have business majors although some have great economics programs.
The few business majors you'll find will often focus on management. I would also imagine alumni support to be limited as graduates in business would be more involved with their MBA programs.

You might want to check out Bentley College in Waltham, Mass. Although it isn't a LAC per se, since they are a school of business, they have many similar attributes of LACs. They are small, they have very strong liberal arts offerings. In fact, you can take liberal arts courses at nearby Brandeis. They also heavily emphasize strong reading and writing courses, not to mention emphasizing strong math skills since they are a business oriented school.

You should definitely check them out.

Thank you for the repliess. I was only asking this coz i have been admitted to an LAC with a Business Admininstration major , i think the major's proper name is Business, Oragnizations and Society and they have like 1 finance course, 1 accounting course in it . But on the website they emphasize they teach us how to think instead of simply how to do.

are Marist and Quinnipiac considered top LACs? They have AACSB accredited undergrad programs.
