Business V. Economics at UW

Hi all,

I'm currently deciding what to major in at the UW; business or major. When i applied, I put down economics because I felt that a business major is far too common (don't ask why I used that as my reasoning...) and I didn't just want to "blend into the pack" (again, don't ask...).

So far, I plan on going to grad school to get an MBA eventually, What would you say is the "better" major at the UW?

Since I didn't apply to the foster school of business for freshman direct admittance (is it too late to try to apply as a freshman? even though I probably won't get in) I probably won't be able to get in until Jr. year (like most people, I think), would it still be worth it to be a business major?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe you could double major?

I think it’d be really beneficial to have experience in both… but don’t take my word for it. I’m going to be majoring in Japanese, not business or econ.
