I just wanted to hear from both sides..

P.S. I've heard that even if you get freshman direct admission from Foster School of Business you still have to reapply for Business major after 2years.. is it true?

somebody please talk about this ish because three people have posted about it I just want to know how difficult is it to get admitted to Foster when you apply as a junior rather than direct admit

Yes, this is a big thing for me. Its one of the biggest factors in my college decision.

???????????????

somebody has got to know...

Hey alright I had a meeting with a Business school counselor last week so I can clear up a few things.

Roughly the top 15% percent of Business applicants are selected for direct admission. Those selected do not need to re-apply junior year to the business school.
The counselor said that this past year they selected about 36-37% of incoming juniors into the Business school.

Are you serious? That's absurd. What happens if you don't get in after applying? Do you reapply?

It's not that bad... I mean UMich and tons of other programs are worse... but yeah you can keep applying or just major in econ or what not. I was told that as long as you are in the 3.3+ range you should be alright, but don't take my word on that.

I'm not 100% sure, but I heard that if you're 3.5 and above in GPA, then it's pretty much guaranteed entrance, but even if you aren't admitted for some reason, you can still take specific business classes with approvals from the business school.

Hopefully I can pull off that 3.3+++. But.. does anyone actually know how much the major really matters in job placement? As in, if I take Economics instead of Business Administration, will I still be pretty good for a career in business...

Sorry for any dumb questions, I've had a pretty bad counselling experience at my high school, and since there's so many kids at my school, there isn't really much of a career advice system or anything..

I just recently decided that my other major, Computer Science might not be for me, so I actually was really looking forward to the business school
