But... i am a writer? A writer of fictions?

Okay, so...

I'm applying everywhere as an English major, except for Emerson and the School of Art Institute of Chicago, which have majors in creative writing.

SAIC only offer BFA's in writing, however.
My parents are all: "apply as much as you want; no way in hell you're going"...
I want to get a Masters degree directly out of college, and they say that BFA credits don't transfer towards getting a MA.

Is this true? Or can i get a BFA in writing and a MA in English/writing somewhere?

Undergrad credits don't "transfer" towards a master's degree. You get a bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S. B.F.A., or whatever), and then you start the master's degree from scratch. As long as the college you get your bachelor's degree from is accredited (I know Emerson is, and I'd guess SAIC is too), you can go into a master's degree program right after receiving the bachelor's degree (even if it's a B.F.A.).

Really? Even if it's for a regualr Master of Arts?

Just double-checking this... i had a friend go directly from a music major to law school, so i'm sure it works..but just...making sure.

Umm... law school doesn't have any requirements so you can major in whatever you want as an undergraduate. No classes "transfer" for graduate credit just as you don't get credit for 1st grade english in high school, the level of class is completely different.

Awwww..! the Decemberists! My favorite.
