Does anyone have an opinion, thoughts on whether it is better to buy a computer at Tulane or from some other vendor on the internet?

I’d recommend buying a computer from a store or website that has a brick and mortar store, so that if you have issues or problems with it you have a physical place to take it to in order to be repaired. That could be Tulane itself, or any number of other computer type stores.

How about laptop vs. desktop?

For sure laptops are more useful, I think.

If you get a laptop, I would recommend also buying a docking station, keyboard and mouse for your dorm. They are not that expensive and make the laptop so much easier to use than only the laptop’s screen, keyboard and mouse.

Tulane has an office that fixes computers. They say they ‘pretty much’ repair computers that are not bought in the tech center. Not quite sure what that means.
