Buying a calculator for AP exams?

<p>I know it is very late to ask this question but it won't take me much time to learn how to use it. I am giving the following exams AP Calculus BC, Physics C:both parts, and Chem which require a calculator in one or more of the sections. I wanted to know which calculator would be the best buy keeping in mind the above AP exams and future prospects (these graphic calculators sure don't come cheap)? and on the other hand, is it advisable to do the questions without a calculator?</p>

<p>TI-83 or 84, if $80-100 isn’t too much. You’ll definitely want a graphing calculator for the exams you’ll be taking. And don’t try to do the questions by hand if you are allowed to use a calculator. Being allowed to use one basically tells you that you need a (graphing) calculator to do some of the questions.</p>
