Buying books if attending August CTOPS

I'm attending the August 20th CTOPS, so I don't know my classes yet, and consequently cannot buy my books yet. Will I have enough time to buy books? What is the quickest way to buy books once I get my classes on the 20th? Thanks

I usually buy my books 1 or 2 days before classes start and haven’t had a problem with shortages. You can either go to the on-campus bookstore which is convenient, or you can go to the bookstore on Franklin st which is usually slightly cheaper.

Sometimes (including this coming semester) I will check out my classes’ syllabi online and just buy the books for the first week from Barns & Noble.

You will have plenty of time to buy books. The only disadvantage to buying from Student Stores (outside of price) is the ridiculously long line you will have to face the days leading up to the first day of class.

Another alternative I would recommend is buying your books used online from amazon or something like that. If you do it right after you register, you will have your books before the first week of classes is over, and you can save a lot of money. The only books that will not work for is for custom editions of certain books.
