Where can I get a list of the required books for the fall schedule? Where is the best place to buy books? I thought there was a place to enter your student ID on the old bookstore website and it would bring up your schedule with them
needed books.

You can check through webreg.rutgers.edu (but not today, since the system is closed on Sundays!). After you sign in at the home page, there should be a link on the bottom for the Rutgers Bookstore – it will probably say “New Brunswick” since they list the other two campuses as well. The Rutgers Bookstore will have the courses and what books you’ll need. Sometimes they don’t list all of the books, or they list some unnecessary books labeled “recommended”. Most of time these “recommended” books are not necessary. Just focus on the ones labeled “Required”.

You can also try **NJ Books **online. You’ll have to search specific classes with their course number that will be in this format: xxx:xxx:xx. For example, 420:101:01 – which is basically French/Elementary French I/Section 01.

I suggest NJ Books because I find that most of the stuff they sell at the Rutgers Bookstore is a bit pricey. NJ Books is on Easton Avenue, so it’s only a 5-minute walk from the Grease Trucks on College Avenue. Make sure you also compare prices online because you might find better deals than any of the bookstores on campus.

Phew… sorry this was long, lol.

I was able to find a lot of used book from upperclassmen through uloop.com and general connections; it’s a lot cheaper that way if you’re willing to make the effort.

You will also be able to rent some books for the semester at Barnes and Noble. This cost will be less than 50% of the new book cost. I wouldn’t get them until you’re schedule is set though.

I got most of mine through upperclassman, just go to the RU facebook group for your major.

yeah i recommend buying books from other students too. that way you save money and the money goes to other students as well.
