Buying textbooks

My D will be a freshman and, like all others, has not registered for classes yet. Most of her friends attending other schools already have their schedules and thus can do some bargain shopping for textbooks on-line. It doesn't seem like there will be any time for Tufts freshmen to do this given their late orientation. Does the bookstore corner the market for all book purchases because of the late registration?

Nope. Professors are very tolerant about when you get the books.
Might I suggest [GetchaBooks › Welcome](http://getchabooks.com/index/) ? Started right here at Tufts by a computer science student. You tell it what courses you’re taking, it automatically looks up the text books assigned to that course, and then automatically shops around a half dozen or so online retailers to find that book for the lowest price. Really makes buying books a snap.

Thanks so much for the great advice!

I realize I wrote that so glowingly that it seems like either I invented it or I’m getting paid to hype it. Neither is the case. It just works really well. I do know the kid who created it, though.

Great site! Definitely going to come in handy- thanks Snarf.
