Buying your grad a new PC? Promos to consider

For those of you who are thinking of buying your grads a new PC, there are two key dates you may want to consider before you buy.

First, starting 5/20, you can get a free XBox 360 with the purchase of select PCs from select retailers.

Second, all Windows 7 PCs purchased on or after 6/2 will be eligible for a $15 Windows 8 upgrade

Make sure you comparison shop if you plan to do the free XBox deal. Some retailers may raise their prices a little (happened last year).

Thanks for that info, Class2012Mom! We will check it out.

what about deals on macbook computers?

Usually the Apple Stores will grant generous discounts if you can show a college student id (logging into MyBama works, too). Often they have a free printer option also. The Supe Store also has an Apple Store inside and offers deals.

I’d suggest holding on to your receipts and also purchasing Apple Care. We love our Macbook Pros. When you purchase the computer, it is a good idea to scan important info in to save such as your receipt. It could come in handy someday.

Anyone interested in purchasing a new MacBook Pro for their student should check out the deals at the Supe Store right now. See The University of Alabama Supply Store on Facebook for details on the following packages…
