HEY! Anyone here applying for the care program.

Here is some information about the program:
Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE)

Through CARE, Florida State University offers a special admissions program dedicated to assisting students who have been disadvantaged due to economic, educational, or cultural circumstances. Most of the students selected for CARE will be a first-generation college student from financially deprived backgrounds with strong potential for success. Students would enter this program in the summer. Interested students should submit the application for admission to the University, a supplemental CARE application (see below), a short essay (no more than 500 words) describing the student's educational goals, and two letters of recommendation (one from the school guidance counselor). Additional information on CARE can be found at www.fsu.edu/~care/.

C.A.R.E. provides preparation, orientation and academic support programming for students who are among the first in their family to attend college, and for those who otherwise may face unique challenges in college because of economic, cultural or educational circumstances. C.A.R.E. implements programs to prepare certain middle and high school students for college as well as programming to help entering college students in their adjustment and academic success throughout their time in college. The students served by C.A.R.E. represent broad levels of diversity in terms of backgrounds, cultures, interests, and academic performance.

What are the benefits of being in the CARE Summer Bridge Program?

I noticed that many of the college courses have CARE sections that are much smaller for more individualized attention. It sounds like an excellent opportunity for deserving students. Good Luck!
