I think you definitely have a chance to get in, you have nice test scores and extracurriculars too. Good luck!

Wow, I’ d say close to 60% chances.

oh dang. Thanks guys. I really hope I get in :/

Well, it seems like you have a couple of distinct focuses that have been extended far along…if you honestly convey that, I see no reason for you getting in.

I’m not an admissions director, but hey, if someone with your stats doesn’t get in, who does? XD

ahh thanks for replies. I am awfully nervous

If accepted to both, which would you choose?

not sure, I haven’t visited either. But I’d probably choose MIT cause of it’s Business/ management school and engineering school

your application would put mine sham so i say yes

lol I wouldn’t say that

Incredible. My eyes almost popped out reading your stats :-)

haha, lol at the “chinese” font.
anyway you are looking good for MIT. do note that MIT likes to see potential and uniqueness in its applicants so try to show those through your essays and recommendations. i don’t think you should bother retaking your SAT1 actually - a difference of say <30 isn’t going to make or break your application.
jiayou!

Haha, well I know I can score much better. I fell like it is the one last thing left unsettled.

It’s people like you who ruin everyone else’s chances

I think you have an extremely good chance. Your awards are very impressive, along with your GPA and ECs. Like others have said, the only aspect of your stats that [potentially] needs improvement is your SAT score. Good luck!

[Chance me~](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/788509-does-usamts-medal-help.html)

Amazing scores, lots of awards, seems like you have genuine interests. I am sure you will not have too much trouble with Caltech and MIT EA.

Just curious, how does your school practice for the National Science Bowl? At my school, I try to do practice competitions during Science club meetings, but that seems to appear ‘boring’ to people. So this year I am doing more interactive projects and demonstrations (like playing with liquid nitrogen), but then our club will fall behind in preparing for the Science Bowl.

Thanks :).
What! well I have a group of senior friends who love science bowl. I seriously don’t see how people get bored of it, it is SO fun to practice with. Especially when you are asked crazy astronomy or bio questions that you can chuckle about :).
In the fall we just try to find people all over the AP science’s classes and do sort presentations. In spring we divide into two teams and practice alone at the library for HOURS. Doing tons of questions and reading/discussing our AP textbooks.

I guess in my year, we just had tons of excited and devoted friends who were really lovin the sci bowl competition. Which regional comp do you go to?

i’m applying to mit EA also and after reading your stats i feel that my chances are not good. at all. congrats man :)

ha, lets not go too far.
but thanks, may the best of luck to you too

I went to the one in Berkeley. I guess people at my school are not as motivated/excited…

What do you mean by sort presentations. Also, what materials do you guys use like textbooks etc. And also where do you get practice questions besides the ones on the NSB website?

Ha ha, as a matter of fact, today we did a liquid nitrogen presentation for Science Club and froze flowers and erasers then smashed them.
Interesting to see how frozen soda looks like also.

MIT and Caltech are always going to be reaches. I know people who had 2390s, 4.7s, and 15 5’s on AP tests, and still did not get into MIT or Caltech (but got into other stuff like Stanford or Harvard). I think you have the chances in your favor, just don’t count on it.
