Hi! I’m new to this so I’m sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I am extremely interested in Cal Berkeley and UCLA. I was just wondering what my chances of getting in would be. I currently am a sophomore so I have only taken the PSAT (1320/1520) and I haven’t taken the ACT or SAT yet. Currently, my cumulative GPA is a 4.05 (I took APUSH this year), but I am taking more AP classes like AP Prob and Stats and AP Micro Macro next year. I am also taking Spanish 4, Honors Precalc, Chemistry, Honors Sci-Fi, and Advanced Comp. My extracurriculars are Student Congress, Unified Sports (helping disabled kids play sports), Key Club, Tennis, and Golf. I am hoping to join NHS next year. Thanks!
Also, I’m out of state.
In addition, I will be a counselor at a camp for kids with Muscular Dystrophy and I will be attending a leadership camp for my student congress this summer.
Check the Freshman profiles for both schools to see how you compare so far.
UC’s have their own GPA calculation. You need to meet the a- g course requirements which includes a year of visual/performing arts.

As an OOS applicant, you only get extra honors points for AP/IB/DE courses in the GPA calculation.
Also UC’s no longer financial aid to OOS students, so expect to pay $55K/year to attend. You are on the right track so keep up the grades, EC’s and test prep.
Thanks!
