I got my Cal Grant money thing recently.. and noticed that it only stated the money that I could be able to have for the private schools I applied to. This is because for my FAFSA, the first six schools that I applied to were the privates. I had saved my UCs to turn in as a correction. However, now that my Cal Grant thing got here before I had a chance to turn in my FAFSA for the UCs, does that mean I'm not going to be able to receive any grant money for the UCs? Or will they send another Cal Grant paper for the UCs when they receive the FAFSA?

I'm slightly concerned because I was planning on most likely attending a UC and was counting on the Cal Grants to help A LOT with the tuition. Thanks.

Actually yeah I had the same problem kattie. I didn't have my UC schools on my list, but I did have Stanford on there. I think as long as you had one CA college there you're good; when you make the corrections it'll get fixed... That's what I remember hearing in my financial aid seminar at my school. However I'm not completely sure about it either, my memory is cloudy on the subject :)

By the way, when do you plan on correcting your college list for FAFSA? I asked the FAFSA people what to do, and they said to send corrections once some of your six schools on your list have received your FAFSA information (delete the ones that got it from the list). I'm not really sure when my colleges will receive my FAFSA stuff though, I listed 6 colleges but I haven't gotten anything about whether they have received it or not.

I already made the corrections.. I thought that if I had received my SAR, everything was cool to go ahead and make them! O_O OH NOOOOO.. what if none of my privates got my financial aid info?!!!

AWWW MOFOSHEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.

Thanks for the answer cob. Hopefully.................... everything will work out. =X

Part of what I discovered last year with the Cal-Grants

1) ONLY those six schools get your info (but, after that's confirmed, you can update it with another 6 schools).

2) Often, only the FIRST school will get all the info it needs. This happened in my case, but it was easily fixed. I actually didn't even realize this until I got my fin-aid from another school (not my first choice on the list, but the third), but I called the Cal Grant people and informed them, and it was updated and changed very quickly.
