do we have to activate our Cal Grants by creating an account on the cal grant website or is it okay if it appears as confirmed on my UCSD fin aid account?

Im not sure if im right but you have to log on to csac and you have to say that you graduated high school or something like that :P

I didn't have to do anything.

I didn't have to do anything either, it was automatically applied to my UCSD student account.

This was in an email i received from CalGrant:

"At this time, the California Legislature has not passed a final state budget. Until a final state budget is approved, no funds can be sent to schools to pay Cal Grant participants.
Be aware that some schools are able to credit students with Cal Grant funds from other sources. If this happens you may get paid Cal Grant before the budget is passed.
Make sure to confirm your high school graduation status with us so that funds can be sent to your college when a budget is passed. If you are not going to be enrolled in college for the Fall 2008 term, use WebGrants for Students to request a leave of absence from the Cal Grant program."

user is right. i still had to confirm i was a high school graduate even though it was already credited to my account,.

how do you confirm this? Can you do it online?

yes, make an account on the cal grant site (they should have given you directions in a letter they sent you a week or so ago). Once you have done so, log in and there should be an option to confirm that you are a high school graduate.
