So I was recently offered admission to Berkeley, and was beyond thrilled. I am coming from a four year institution outside California and not an exceptional student by Berkeley standards (3.57 GPA).
I realized after getting my acceptance letter that I hadn’t notified Berkeley that I dropped a class at the beginning of the semester because it didn’t count towards my major, and I picked up an econ class instead. However, it was a graduate level math class and I’m afraid my admissions was partly based on the fact that I was taking this class as a sophomore.
Do you think my admissions will be rescinded? Im so scared.
You’ll want to contact Berkeley ASAP. You could run into an issue from dropping the class/making a schedule change, or for taking an upper division course, the latter of which depends on the specifics of how many units you have on your transcripts.
I contacted Berkeley and got an automatic email saying if there was a change in my decision they would let me know - it had me freaking out!!

There is almost no chance this will make a whit of difference. Schools need to have much stronger reasons than this to drop you. After all, you have a contract with them. It isn’t like they are eager to screw up your life. Frankly I wouldn’t have even brought it to their attention. It is up to them to find it and that would have been incredibly unlikely.
