Cal Poly Regular Decision Thread 2016-2017

@navyblue I’ll leave that up to others like @Gumbymom who are much more knowledgeable! I’m just good at copying and pasting!

@navyblue123: What is your CP GPA (9-11th grades) with up to 8 semesters of UC approved Honors/AP/IB or DE courses?

https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Also try to calculate your MCA score based on the above post ^^^^.

GPA: 3.82 weighted (not including first semester senior year grades)
MCA: i dont know how to convert my ACT score (35E, 35M, 33R, 32S) to an SAT score
thank you for your help btw @Gumbymom

I have three questions. One, on my application I put my reading + math score was a 1220 but it’s from the old sat. I also took the new sat out of 1600 and got a 1280 but I didn’t put that on my app but when I sent in my sat scores I sent that score as well. Which score is better and if 1280 is better will they still see it? Also, when calculating MCA scores do I count algebra if I took it in 8th grade? Last, what’s a good mca score for child development/ college of liberal arts?

@Gumbymom can u chance my son? 4737 OOS biochemistry

My daughter seems to have an MCA of 4226 in state, statistics major. Not sure how that stacks up…

Status still says ready for decision.

This post explains how to convert ACT and old SAT scores to MCA scores: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/19077718/#Comment_19077718

I believe it is not yet known how new SAT scores convert, but it should be similar.

@luckymom22 is correct that when we get to reporting accept/deny, it would be helpful if you could report your calculated MCA score and major.

@degeese Your portal says “ready for decision”? Mine just says no determination has been made. Yours says something else?

Same as @Bigguy17, mine just says “No determination has been made.” In state biology applicant with ~4556 MCA score. The anticipation is killing me :-S I wonder if “Ready for Decision” means that it’ll be coming soon (e.g. out of state students, students that are higher alphabetically in respect to college/major), whereas “No determination has been made” is for the different colleges/in state v. out of state? CPP’s portal has said “Ready for Decision” for me for the past month, but it wasn’t always “Ready for Decision.”

@navyblue123 and @jjmama: If you want a chancing you should start a new thread since this thread is for SLO decisions. Also @eyemgh has started a thread for all applicants that are accepted/rejected or waitlisted and would like your MCA score along with major.

Does anyone know when application release dates should start??

@degeese Wrong Cal Poly fam

My portal also says no determination has been made…is this supposed to mean something? In state graphic communications major

@katheroone: It means no decision has been made as of yet.

That’s the placeholder message until a decision is released.

I was wondering why some people have “ready for decision”

@katheroone: The “Ready for Decision” was for Cal Poly Pomona. Poster was in the wrong thread.

Do colleges send out admittance letters over the weekend?? Just curious, or will we start seeing them come out Monday more likely

Highly unlikely they post decisions on the weekend.
