I figured this would be the most appropriate place to post this.

Is anyone here familiar with Cal Poly SLO's architecture program? I scoured this forum for information, and I didn't get an in-depth impression.

I know the best way to go about this is to contact current students (already doing so :)) and visit the department during open house, but due to resources, I can't make it to California for just a weekend.

Anyway, I'd appreciate ANY commentary or input.

But specifically.. Inclusive Beginnings vs. the traditional route? What are the major differences? Does anyone view one as being more beneficial than the other? How is the arch community there? I know it's the smallest school at the university.. are there often study groups or do students tend to isolate themselves?

hhm..no one is giving you love so heres my two cents

although im not a student of SLO, however I did have the chance to attend the open house and since their school invited our Community college to participate in the Cal Poly Design Village, some of my classmates joined and i decided to go down and support them.

In regards to inclusive beginnings vs the traditional route, im not sure what you are asking so i hope someone who goes there will respond(i highly doubt it).
Anyways...about the arch community....hard to say. Um, some good vibe some were just busy doing their model work. Everyone has their own studio room, um...dont know what else to say. Some of the level 3/4 studios the students were kind of isolating themselves cause i think alot of ppl come by and go through during open house so maybe its just that time. They just work but some were sociable in the studio to each other. er..i think that's all i remember.

art--search the old forum. There were a few postings from a Harvard grad student. She said the Cal Poly kids at Harvard were incredibly talented and well-trained.
