I am planning on applying under Architecture this fall and i was wondering what the stats were of students that just got accepted. So if you got in to architecture, can you please post your stats for me. Thanks.

i got into architecture and that fact is probably what will have me choosing SLO over davis/sb/irvine in the end. anyway, 4.07 & 1350M+V. good luck!

artographyx, congrats on getting in!

anyone else?

Congratulation! A new architecture building is currently being constructed, so you can look forward to that. It's about time because the current architecture building looks horrible (irony, considering Cal Poly is one of the best arch school in the nation).

cpstudent10,

so you're a student at cal poly.. what do you think of the program there? i read what you wrote in the post about engineering there.. is the architecture that bad?

The program is definitely strong. I don't know how the course curriculum is like for arch majors, but I know you guys take some of the same classes as engineering students during the first year. My only beef is with the administration. You'll often find students trying to "crash" courses (they couldn't get in during the registration period, so they attempt to add it during the first week). This sometimes works for lectures, but definitely not for labs. If you have a lot of labs in arch, it might be a problem. The school either has to stop accepting so many students or hire more instructors. They're not doing either right now, so yay Cal Poly.

a new building? ooh, exciting.

does anyone have any advice regarding the inclusive beginnings route vs. the traditional design & drawing sequence for first-year arch majors?
