could i get some insights on the two college experience and what the differences, advantages, and possibly disadvantages of each be
Im looking for internship, classes, teacher student relationships, environment, chances of jobs afterwards, academics, etc
My major is Structural engineering at cal
and civil engineering at UCSD
but im hoping to switch to aerospace engineering at either
I don’t know much about either school, but if you’re planning in doing aerospace I would actually recommend switching to MechE rather than AeroE. With engineering it’s better to do your undergraduate degree in a “broader” discipline and then get more specialized in grad school (if you choose to go to grad school). The idea is that there are a lot more jobs for people with a BS in MechE than for those with a BS in AeroE. Keep in mind that many MechE programs have aerospace concentrations so you can still focus on that, you’ll just have a bit more job security out of undergrad.
