Right now I'm at the community college planning to transfer to UCSD with a Structural Engineering major. It's easy to say UCSD is the best choice for anyone but I want to figure out if it's the best choice for me.

The thing is, that with a failing grade in general chemistry and a poor, barely passing grade in precalculus this semester, I think that I might be getting a little over my head and out of my league with the UCSD thing.

Structural E at UCSD requires only 1 semester of and that's part of what makes it appealing.

What makes SDSU appealing to me is that there's fewer requirements involved such as 2-3 fewer semesters of math required to transfer and at SDSU only one semester of gen chem is required for mech and aerospace unlike UCSD. and I hear that mech and aero are similar so its easy to double major.

for me its either engineering or nothing. so if I can't hack it in an engineering program, it's time to leave college altogether.
