If I have 4.0 weighted gpa and 1770 sat score (650 writing, 600 reading, 520 math) can I get into cal poly slo for biology? I’m currently a junior, what can I do senior year class-wise to improve my chances? Will taking ap bio and recieving an “A” help??

SAT: 1328 (Math + CR)
ACT: 30
GPA: 4.06
You are on target for GPA and low on your SAT scores. I would consider retaking and getting that Math score around 650 if possible. Taking rigorous courses will definitely help, but getting an A will only boost your GPA and not give you an extra edge for getting into the Biology program. Since Biology is very competitive and one of the most popular majors in the School of Science with an acceptance rate of 15%, your chances are low unless you improve your SAT score. Make sure you have some good safeties and definite match schools also on your list. Good Luck.
