I’m currently a senior with a 4.0 unweighted and a 4.5 weighted GPA. My SAT score isn’t so great at 1200, but my ACT score is a 28. I have taken every AP class my school offers, which isn’t a lot since I come from a small town in Northern California. I plan on applying to Cal Poly aiming for a biology degree and I wanted to know what my chances of getting in are.
CP uses 9th-11th grades for the a-g course requirements and caps the weighted courses at 8 semesters for 10-11th to get their GPA.
Use this calculator but include 9th grades to get your weighted CP GPA.
SLO projects a 13% acceptance rate for Biology. With the campus being overenrolled this year, it may be less.
With an average CP GPA if 4.09, ACT of 30 and SAT of 1391, it will be a slight Reach. Make sure you apply widely. Biology is one the most popular majors at SLO.
