I got accepted to all these for my intended major but I am leaning towards Pomona for the lower cost. I don’t know if it’s worth attending SLO and going $16,000 in debt every year just for my undergrad (compared to Pomona’s $5,000). I don’t know if I just don’t want to pass up the opportunity to attend SLO, but I really need some advice lol. Thanks in advance!
Cal Poly SLO. I don’t think you have to worry too much about debt because once you can be hired as an aerospace engineer, your debt will be paid off so easily (you earn like 100,000 man!). So, now we are focusing one which colleges will best prepare you for a job, and which colleges can provide you with hands-on and decent reputation for your major. Cal Poly SLO is certainly off the chart. Cal Polys (both Pomona and Slo) have hands-on learning approach that is famous among most firms while both provide many internship opportunities for engineering students, whereas UCI is more research-orientated and is better in preparing you for grad school. That doesn’t mean you won’t get a job if you can to UCI or you will get a job for sure when going to Cal Polys, but Cal Poly Slo is comparatively more popular for its engineering department, and therefore, gives you a higher chance to be hired upon graduating from college.
