With your SAT scores your best bets for a UC school would be Merced and Riverside, the others are reaches. For Cal Poly SLO it depends on whether you live in that county or not. If you do not it would be a reach. A strong match at U of O if you were an Oregon resident but being OOS it is not a certainty you will get in.

I second that ^^^^

I honestly think you should raise your SATs a bit. Perhaps 1900ish? 2000+ would really be the best, lol.

i live in southern california. Could i really not get into santa cruz? i thought my sat and gpa were both above average for there…i kinda knew though that Santa Barbara and Davis would be my 2 reach/dream schools. i plan on taking the SAT reasoning again in October.

Well, judging from your GPA('s), I can see that your course load wasn’t THAT rigorous but you still managed to get pretty good grades. Your EC’s are a little shaky but since you played baseball for 4 years you could get accepted because of sports. If you raise your SAT I to 2100+ (and remember you still have to take the SAT II’s), I think you will have a good shoot at all of your choices. I think the others were just critiquing you based on your SAT scores. Study hard for the next SAT I (this June or if you didn’t sign up, your last chance is next October) and get the best grade you can get. Your chances aren’t as bad as the others are saying.

PS: Being instate also helps :D
