P.s. Let me know if you have a 'chance me' thread, post the link with your response and I'll chance you back :)

UCSD - low reach to match
UCLA - low reach
SDSU - match
CSULB - match

i think you could get into cal poly, UCSB and Pepperdine, those are all good matches for you, cal state long beach and san diego state are low matches/safeties, and UCLA and UCSD are pretty high reaches for you

chance me back at
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/635725-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html

Given that you live in California, I believe that you shouldn't have any trouble getting into most of those CALIFORNIA schools since, if I am not mistaken, you're in the score range for most those schools, you have excellent extracurricular activities, and a great GPA. I am only somewhat familiar with one of your schools, UCLA, and I say it's probably a IN/LOW MATCH. Good luck with all your colleges.

^UCLA's not an in/low match. It's more of a reach, as is UCSD. UCSB, high match. The others you should be good, except Pepperdine, which I know nothing about.

haha yeah "class2009college" you must not know much about UCLA, there is no way that its a an 'in/low match' for me. I can admit its defintivly a reach.
Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Pepperdine University - You should be fine
UC Santa Barbara - A very slight reach, but I'd say its more likely than not
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - Cal Poly's getting wierd now. Apparently they are significantly cutting back applicants accepted. You still have a chance, but I'd say its lower than UCSB unless you live in the area. Apparently they're making it easier if you live in the surrounding area.
UC San Diego - This one is up in the air, my school counselor told me they looked at stats the most of any UC, and less at ECs, which are your strong points.
UC Los Angeles - This is definately a reach, but I know a person (an asian male, no less) through Boy Scouts who got in with about the same SATs as you and a lower GPA.
San Diego State Univ. - I'd say its on the fallback end of match.
CSU Long Beach - See SDSU

For a lot of your schools, you unweighted GPA and scores are a tad low, but it appears that you have a lot of ECs with good depth, and a rigorous courseload (hence the large diff in UW and W GPA). You have a good chance at most, and a shot at UCLA.

My daughter was accepted to CSULB on the third of February. You can check over the phone

Haha, I'm in AVID too and I was an '06 Write Off finalist as well! :) I think my school started ignoring the Write Off thing for the most part after that year, though...

UCSD/UCLA: Reach
Pepperdine: Match
UCSB: Low match
Cal Poly SLO: Low match
SDSU/CSULB: Safety-match

Qwertylad, re: SLO...the Cal State system makes it easier for the areas surrounding the school to get in.

UCSD has a pretty straight forward formula, although it may be tough to predict the cut off this year.

Pepperdine has a surprisingly low admittance rate, especially given (what should be) a degree of self selection. And it's not mostly about SAT and GPA. I think the essay questions may shed some light on the goodness of fit; what did you think?

Are you selling cookies this year? This is the first year in about 12 "we" wont! My D was class of '12 ; got her silver but not her gold. Good luck!

The essay questions for Pepperdine were pretty intense, but i think my responses say a lot about who I really am so im confident in them.

And no for the first time in a long time i will NOT be selling cookies. its senior year, and my troop is all seniors so we decided not sell this year for our own peace of mind.

Update: Accepted to SDSU
havent heard bk from others yet (still pending)

Pepperdine University-------match
UC Santa Barbara----------low reach
UC San Diego-----------reach
UC Los Angeles----------- mid reach

Update: Accepted to UC San Diego

Update: Rejected to Cal Poly

Update: Accepted to UCSB

Yeah, it looks like you have a chance with UCLA, especially if you have relatives there. The other schools are great, so if UCLA doesn't accept, you have great backup.
