** A note for fall 2021 and fall 2022 first-time freshman:
The California State University (CSU) has temporarily suspended the use of ACT/SAT examinations in determining admission eligibility for all CSU campuses for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 academic year.
This temporary change of admission eligibility applies only for the following admission cycles: fall 2021, winter 2022, spring 2022, fall 2022, winter 2023, and spring 2023.**
@gumbymom I understand Cal Sate is test blind for the current application cycle, but when inside the calstateapply I see a section to self report test scores (ACT, SAT, APs, etc) Do you know if we input SAT scores here and AP scores will admissions see them? Why would one include them versus not include them? Thank you.
From the CSU website:
The California State University understands the challenges that students are facing due to COVID-19. In response, the CSU has temporarily suspended the SAT or ACT test requirements only for students applying for admission in fall 2021 as freshman. This means that SAT and ACT scores will not be used for determining who gets admitted into the CSU.
If you are accepted to a CSU campus ACT or SAT test scores will be used as one of the measures to place you in the proper mathematics and English courses.
AP scores can be self reported on the application but for credit, an official score report needs to be submitted to the campus in which the student will be attending.
CSU’s Admission Advisory Council will present recommendations to go test-free permanently during CSU Trustee Committee on Educational Policy Meeting on Wed Jan 26 9AM PST. It is a discussion item only with action in March. See Agenda Item 3 on last 10 pages of https://www.calstate.edu/csu-system/board-of-trustees/past-meetings/2022/Documents/January-24-26-2022-ED-POL.pdf
