Im a junior in HS right now and I'm doing a huge English project this semester thats pretty much make or break our grade. My topic for this project is pretty much College Football culture, and how the football team affects the schools students and overall campus environment.

My question is, where is the best place to get tickets to the Big Game? or Cal tickets in general? btw, its a requirement that I go to a game, and get footage for my presentation, so I might as well go to that game if i can.

Also, I was wondering, since some of you are berkelely students, if anyone has any general suggestions or tips for this project.

Does it have to be the Big Game? It would probably be better if you got one of the other games. Easier mobility, not nearly as crowded, etc. Plus The Big game tickets are really expensive.

Yah, big game tickets were sold out in the first few hours it became available. I wanted to go really bad but couldnt get tickets. Its usually hard to get student section tickets, because the stadium gives too much space for alumni and outside people rather than actually students. Actually right now I really hate the athletic ticket office because my free freshmen tickets got lost through the system so now I cant go to any games cuz the student sections sold out. AHHH

Depending on where you are on Tightwad Hill, a camera with a damned good lens can perhaps get the best possible aerial shots of the game and stadium.

Also, since you are likely to find hardcore football fans camping out on the Hill, conducting interviews with some of the onlookers would be a good idea. You should also look for Rally Committee for another perspective of the Cal/Stanfurd phenomenon (NOTE)!

Smallz3141- yeah I am going to the Oregon game as well. BUt I just wanted to go the Big Game because my goal is the find the most intense fans, and an extremely spirited environment. Even if I can't get it, it would probably be fine, because my footage needs to focus more on the school spirit than the actual game footage.

Where can I find the most sprited students and alumni before and during the game?

Strykur- Can you elaborate on this Tightwad Hill? Where is it? How do I get there?

From my understanding, you can't bring video cameras to games. Granted, you could sneak one in, but recording from the stands never get you good footage.
