CalArts acceptances

Hey Milky:
when you saw that you were accepted was it on the materials check page or the actual application page? I’ve been checking both multiple times per day because I wasn’t sure!

If you can still see the materials you sent, your decision hasn’t been posted yet. The page changes to “Congratulations[…]” instead of “Thank you for checking you application”

thank you!

Ps- I was looking up people who got accepted into the mfa program online and I saw one for sure like a week ago. Some department posted about this guy getting in.

I got an email asking me to join the accepted BFA students facebook page, so I believe all BFA offers have been made, but I’m not sure. MomOfDreamer and acting720 have stopped posting, so I’m assuming they have already heard back.

I don’t know if they do BFAs first and then MFAs, but if that’s the case I guess you’ll find out pretty soon :)

Hi! No, we haven’t heard anything yet; we are still waiting. I did find out from someone else that they are still not even close to finished with the reviews of BFA or MFA applicants. They take them each one at a time and review them carefully. They are still moving through the whole group of auditions remaining. They will try to be done by April 1.

And, if you look at last year’s posts, this decision process went on for weeks. Ahhh!

Oh! My bad.

Oh darn! Seeing as I applied after the application date that means I’m one of the last to be reviewed! I’m freaking out.

I don’t think it has anything to do with order of application. My S applied early in the process and he is still waiting and some who applied the last day have heard.

Since my last post in this thread, I have accepted an offer from another school. Best of luck to all of you still waiting!

(As a reminder, I applied for the MFA program. As of now, I’ve still not heard anything from them.)

Like several others, my D is still waiting for a decision as well! The admissions office told us that there are still both acceptances and rejections as decisions in the remaining applications.

Hey guys! So, there are 25 people in the facebook group of the 2013 BFA accepted students, including me. I don’t know if everyone in the group is in the Acting program, though.

Is it BFA across the board for the whole school, as in, all the majors? See if you can find out…

UPDATE: it is BFA across the School of Theater, not just acting.

Great, thanks! Appreciate the 'inside scoop!

Getting tired of the “your application is pending a review” page. Sigh. Beginning to just look ahead to what we DO have on the plate.

I just want to make sure I’m checking the right place… It’s the application you check right? Mine just says ‘submitted’, this is all normal right? Congrats to those who got in, I’m still waiting, biting my nails!

Actually, no, that is what we were doing for the longest time. Then someone guided me to this link, which had come to us on an email earlier.

http://aar.calarts.edu/applicant.html

You go there, type in your calarts pin and password and it takes you to a screen that says “Thank you for checking on the status of your application… it is pending a review… blah blah blah…”

And hopefully, one day, it will change to “Congratulations!”

I got my CalArts email account today!

Hang in there, acting720. There’s only about 12 people in the group who were accepted to the Acting program (round it up to 15, if some other students don’t have facebook or chose not to join the group). That means there’s still 21 spots avaliable!

Thanks, milkshakespeaere! 12 people who have been accepted AND also accepted CalArts. Some people, I’m sure, haven’t decided yet. Arg! The suspense is killing us!
